Dharamshala City
The town of Dharamshala is best known internationally as the home of Dalai Lama of Tibet.You can explore the city, visit to local markets & can also try some local food in the main city. To explore much you have to travel out of the city to see the beauty of hills.
St. John Church
This church is dedicated to John the Baptist. It was built in 1852 & located in between dharamshala & Mcleodganj. The environment is very cool here. You will find peace at the church. A must visit place if you are travelling to dharamshala.
McLeod Ganj
This place has special spot of attraction, as many tourists from all over the world visit here to learn about the Buddhism. People usually call it upper dharamshala, as it is on a height of 10 kms from dharamshala city. The view from here is breathtaking & so peaceful. Dalai Lama Temple Complex
This place has special importance especially for Tibetan culture & spirituality. This place doesn't allow the use of cameras & you have to deposite the camera in the safe. The complex has a built in Museum, where you will get to know the history of Tibetan & their struggles for the independence. The timing for the Museum is 9 AM to 5 AM from Tuesday to Sunday. The temple is very beautiful from inside.
Bhagsu Waterfall
The waterfall is situated in Bhagsunag village, which is only 2 kilometers from Mcleodganj bus stand. if you are travelling by your car, then there is valet parking available just before you enter the village. you can also take autos to reach there from Mcleodganj bus stand. To reach the waterfall you have to cross the main market & trek from narrow road. You can also go down to the flowing water & can enjoy there. The feeling near the top is way different as the view from there is breathtaking. Alot of tourist travel to waterfall.
Dal Lake
Dal lake is situated near Tota rani village in Kangra district which is only 3 kms from McLeod Ganj. The lake is surrounded by deodar trees with a scenic view of the hills. There is a shiva temple on its back. The lake is so relaxing that it provides peace to the soul.
Kangra Fort
Kangra Fort is situated 20 kms from the Dharamshala city on the top of the hill. The fort is served as a residence to one of the dynasties in the world - The Katoch dynasty. The fort is spread over an area of around 4 kms. There is a museum inside the Fort to know the history of Fort.
Kangra Valley
Kangra Valley offers unique sights throughout the year. If you ever want to feel the nature & want some peace in life, then make a visit to kangra valley. Trek to Triund Top
Trekking is one the topmost activity to stay fit. The trek is 7 kms from dharamshala city & it will take approx 4 hrs to reach the top (depends person to person). The view is way different from the top. There are small villages & cafes in between the way to triund. You can stay at Triund trek & begin to the snow line the very next morning. The trek is very easy.
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium
The stadium is situated 3.8 kms from dharamshala bus stand. The view from the stadium is very exciting as the stadium is surrounded by snowy mountains. It has a capacity of 23,000 audience. The feeling is way different to watch live cricket here.
